Outfocus is a study app with shared focus rooms. It is operated by SKRIPE AZ LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Outfocus apps for iPhone and iPad and the website outfocus.app.
The short version: we collect what we need to run the rooms, count your focus time and keep people safe. We never sell your personal data, we never show ads in the rooms, and the app never records your microphone (it only plays room sounds such as rain and the fire).

Age signals. We don't ask for your birthday. Where a law requires it (currently some US states), we ask Apple or Google for the age range already set on your device and keep only whether you are a minor.
Purchases. Outfocus is free and sells nothing today. If we add optional paid features, Apple or Google will handle the payment. We would receive the purchase status, never your card details.
02What other people see
In a room, other people see your @name, your character, whether you are focusing, on a break or away, how long you have been in the current block, your level marker and, if you turn them on, your glow and strict-mode icon. They never see your email address or the name on your Apple or Google account. Chat messages are visible to the people in that room.
03How we use it
- To run the service: seats, timers, group sprints, room levels, yarn, levels and items.
- To keep the rooms safe: filtering names, reviewing reports, and preventing cheating and abuse (for example, the same time counted twice from two devices).
- To fix bugs and improve the app, using crash reports and aggregate usage.
- To contact you about your account or important changes. We don't send marketing emails unless you opt in.
- To measure our ad campaigns on the website.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (running Outfocus), our legitimate interests (security, fair play, improving the app), your consent (advertising cookies; you can withdraw it at any time) and legal obligations.
04Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that run Outfocus for us (cloud hosting, databases, email, crash reporting), with Apple and Google for sign-in, and with authorities when the law requires it. They may only use it to provide their service to us. Some providers are outside your country; when data leaves the EEA or the UK, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people at SKRIPE AZ LLC who need it to run Outfocus, and they are bound by confidentiality. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data against loss, theft and misuse.
05How long we keep it
We keep your account and study history for as long as your account exists, because your progress is yours and nothing you earn expires. Chat messages and safety reports are kept only as long as needed to run the rooms and review reports. When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep, and backups that roll off on their own schedule.
06Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Residents of California and other US states have similar rights, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
You can delete your account at any time from the account removal page. For anything else, email [email protected].
07Children and teens
Outfocus is for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we delete it. Where we know a user is a minor, safer defaults apply.
08Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For important changes we will also tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
